2 Cowpens, Battle of
Произошло в ходе Войны за независимость [ War of Independence] 17 января 1781 в районе Каупенза, шт. Южная Каролина; крупная победа американцев. Американцы (600 человек) под командованием бригадного генерала Д. Моргана [Morgan, Daniel] атаковали британские силы полковника Б. Тарлтона [Tarleton, Banastre]. После атаки они были вынуждены отступить, но встретили контратаку британцев штыковым боем и окружили их. Британцы сдались, попав в окружение и потеряв 200 человек убитыми и ранеными.
